B4 – Championing Health, Wellness, and Efficiency in the Workplace

As occupant needs have evolved and become more sophisticated, innovative companies are providing multi-purpose technology solutions that create healthier, more efficient, and more productive office spaces.  This session will detail how GSA worked with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the City of New York to develop the Fitwel Certification.  This certification promotes a healthier built environment and encourages building owners, facility managers, and others to incorporate healthful features into the built environment. You will hear how researchers are using real-time occupant feedback to develop algorithms to create personalized preferences that integrate with building management systems (BMS), creating new space performance metrics for energy consumption, occupant comfort and satisfaction, and productivity.  In this session experts will discuss how health, wellness, and efficiency are driving rapid change in today’s work place.
