Current responsibilities
Darlene Pope now serves as Sr. Director of Energy and Sustainability Services for JLL Americas. She has 25 years of experience in commercial real estate, technology and smart building solutions, along with a passion for making a positive impact on building operations and management. Prior to joining JLL, Ms. Pope was the founder and CEO of CoR Advisors® a smart building consulting firm and leading educator to the real estate industry for the integration of technology into real estate management and operations, which was recently acquired by JLL.

CoR Advisors’ expertise in smart building integrations systems supports JLL’s growing focus on energy management and high-performance building technology solutions. Ms. Pope brings a unique set of skills and experience to the JLL team in all areas of energy, sustainability, technology, and building efficiency. She developed and trademarked a Roadmap to Energy Efficient Buildings, which has been used as a model for comprehensive energy management planning and implementation.  Ms. Pope has designed and managed energy management programs for major commercial real estate companies and corporate clients, and has provided consulting services for various building types and sizes.

Ms. Pope founded and heads the annual Building Energy Summit®, a national forum to educate building owners and operators on energy efficient technologies and solutions. She is a nationally
recognized author and speaker on intelligent buildings, energy management, green buildings, sustainability, in-building wireless solutions and other real estate technologies. Based on her accomplishments and work in the industry, she was recently named one of Bisnow’s Power Women in Commercial Real Estate.

Previous experience
Before founding CoR Advisors, Pope was a Managing Partner at Realcomm, where she launched and managed the company’s professional development division and magazine. Ms. Pope began her
commercial real estate career as a property manager for Charles E. Smith Co. in Washington, DC in 1992. Her professional experience includes Founder and President of CRE Partners, Vice President of Real Estate at On-Site Access, Director of Real Estate at Broadband Office, and National Director of the Internet Building program for Kivex/Allegiance Telecom. She has been an active member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA), Chairman of the Sustainability Committee for Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Northern Virginia, member of the USGBC, and President of the In-Building Wireless Alliance (IBWA).
