Edward P. Yim is Associate Director of Policy and Compliance for the District of Columbia’s Department of Energy and Environment.  In this role, he advises the Department on energy policy, develops initiatives and projects to help achieve the District’s energy goals, and represents the Department before the District of Columbia’s Public Service Commission.   Recently, he has been leading the effort to develop the climate and energy plan to reduce greenhouse gases by 50% by 2032, called Clean Energy DC, as well as developing strategies to increase local solar generation in the District, with a goal of installing up to 250 MW in the District by 2032.  He has also been leading the District Government’s efforts on modernizing the energy delivery system in the District to prepare for the “Grid of the Future.”  He has presented in numerous conferences and seminars, including on the topic of clean energy planning for cities for the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and keynote presentations on distributed energy resources and grid modernization.  He has practiced energy and environmental law for nearly 10 years on topics ranging from electricity market, renewable energy, natural gas development, and wastewater utilities.
